Strider is a handsome 3 year old red male with soft ears and a docked tail. When he was rescued from one of the local shelters, he was so depressed, he would hardly move. He's not depressed any more, but he is desperate for a person or family of his own! This very steady dog behaves well in a car and in the house. He is housetrained and has used a dog-door. He is athletic and enjoys retrieving. Strider is very dominant with dogs, however he can share space with a submissive female. Around other dogs, Strider needs to be on-leash with an experienced handler. He has never shown any aggression towards people and is obedient. Strider would be great for a stay-at-home with a large yard (he can get his exercise retrieving). Yes, he was named "Strider" after the character in "The Lord of the Rings".  |
